Preparation

  1. First, peel the apple and cut it into slices about one centimetre thick. With the help of a peeler or a knife, remove the middle part to obtain doughnut-shaped slices.
  2. Turn on the air fryer and preheat it to 180 degrees while you prepare the rest. Meanwhile, cut the puff pastry into strips about one centimetre wide. Before wrapping them, brush each apple slice with a thin layer of jam or honey to make them tastier and help the puff pastry adhere better.
  3. Now wrap each slice with a strip of puff pastry, feeding it through the centre. Once ready, dip the doughnuts in a sugar and cinnamon mixture to give them an aromatic and crunchy touch.
  4. Place them in the basket of the air fryer and bake them at 180 degrees for 15 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking, after about 10 minutes, to brown them evenly.
  5. Once ready, serve them warm, perhaps with a dusting of icing sugar or accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream. They are perfect for a mouth-watering snack or as a tasty dessert.
